BioShock System Requirements FAQ

Can I run BioShock on a low-end PC?
BioShock can run on relatively low-end PCs. The minimum requirements are an Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz, a GeForce 6600/Radeon X1300 (or better) with 128MB VRAM, and 1GB of RAM. If your PC meets these, you should be able to play at lower settings.
What GPU do I need for BioShock?
At a minimum, you'll need a DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 128MB of RAM, such as an NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or an ATI Radeon X1300. For a better experience, an NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT or an ATI Radeon X1900 or better is recommended.
How much RAM does BioShock need?
BioShock requires a minimum of 1GB of RAM to run. However, 2GB of RAM is recommended for smoother gameplay and higher settings.
Will BioShock run on integrated graphics?
While *technically* possible if your integrated graphics meet the minimum VRAM requirement (128MB) and support DirectX 9.0c, performance may be poor even at the lowest settings. A dedicated graphics card is highly recommended for a playable experience.
What is the best graphics settings for BioShock?
If you meet the recommended specs, you should be able to run BioShock at high settings. Experiment with lowering texture detail, shadows, and anti-aliasing if you experience performance issues. Disabling DirectX 10 can also improve performance on some systems.
